EFCC arrests 55 suspected internet fraudsters

The Ilorin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday said it has arrested 55 suspected internet fraudsters in Offa, headquarters of the Offa local government area.

EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale in a statement in Ilorin, said the arrests were made at different locations in the town.

Oyewale said the suspects were arrested in a sting operation at their hideout following credible intelligence on their suspected involvement in internet-related offences.

”Items recovered from the suspects include nine exotic cars,  two bikes, laptops, smartphones as well as charms.

”The suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations,” he added.
