Edo State Authorities Detain 10 Individuals Involved in Forex Operations
The Edo State Police Command has apprehended 10 illegal forex operators, commonly known as Bureau de Change, in the state.
Commissioner Funsho Adeboye revealed this information during a press briefing in Benin City, emphasizing the distinction between legal and illegal forex activities.
According to him, “We arrested 10 forex hawkers, that is, people who illegally deal in the sales of foreign currencies. They have been identified for illegally dealing in the sales of foreign currencies.
Adeboye urged the public to utilize registered Bureau De Change offices discouraging transactions with unauthorized hawkers to ensure a legitimate and stable currency exchange environment.
The commissioner emphasized the government’s effort in registering legal operators and vowed to continue the crackdown on illegal forex activities.
