Edinson Cavani's contract terminated at Valencia

Former Manchester United striker, Edinson Cavani has terminated his contract with La Liga side, Valencia and is set to join Argentine club, Boca Juniors ahead of the coming season.

The 36-year-old will join the Argentine club as a free agent after his contract termination with Valencia.

Edinson Cavani will be at the club until December 2024 after signing a contract that keeps him at the club on a two-year deal.

This report was confirmed courtesy of football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano.

Romano tweeted: “Edinson Cavani to Boca Juniors, here we go! Verbal agreement completed on deal valid until December 2024.

“Cavani has accepted conditions of the agreement as he’s leaving Valencia on free transfer, as reported yesterday.”

Romano in his tweet reveals that the “Contracts will be signed soon.”

Cavani joined La Liga side Valencia only one year ago, after a less than memorable time at Old Trafford with Manchester United.

Following his move to Valencia, he has struggled to hit top form amid a number of injury concerns for the Uruguayan international.

The former Paris Saint-Germain striker was only able to manage five top-flight goals last season for the Spanish side.
