Driver breaks into churches, steals musical instruments

Ekiti: Man, 38, docked alleged stealing of two bags of cement -TopNaija.ng

A commercial driver, Oluseyi Osuolale, who allegedly broke into two churches and carted away musical instruments, appeared before an Osun State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Osogbo on Tuesday.

He was arraigned on four counts bordering on burglary and stealing.

The prosecutor, Jacob Akintunde, said the defendant sometime in August 2020, conspired with others and entered into the Christ Apostolic Church, Household of God District, and a branch of the Deeper Life Bible Church in Osogbo, and stole Yamaha keyboard, sound mixer, lead guitar, bass guitar, and television set, all valued at N632,000.

The offenses were said to have contravened sections 415 and 390(9) of the Criminal Code Cap. 34 of the Osun State Law of Nigeria.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The defense counsel, O.I. Nifemi, moved the application for his bail, which was granted by the Magistrate, Adebola Ajanaku.

He was subsequently admitted to bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.

The matter was adjourned till September 15, 2020, for hearing
