Driver apprehended after crushing LASTMA official to death in Lagos

A driver has been apprehended by security operatives after hitting an official of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority in the Lekki-Ajah area of the State.

A Sienna driver has crushed a LASTMA official, identified as Jamiu Issa, to death after he was driving against traffic, TopNaija reports.

According to eye-witnesses, the Sienna driver was driving against traffic when the official, Issa tried to apprehend him for the offense, unfortunately, the driver rammed into him.

Issa was quickly rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.

The motorist was chased by witnesses as he tried to flee on the spot. In the process, he also knocked down another person before he was apprehended.

The driver was taken first to Ilasan police station, and eventually to Ajiwe police station.

Loved ones have taken to Facebook to mourn the deceased officer.
