Drake's gambling misfortunes continue with Mike Tyson loss

Canadian rapper Drake’s penchant for high-stakes sports betting has once again led to a significant loss following the defeat of Mike Tyson to Jake Paul.

He wagered $355,000 on Mike Tyson to defeat Jake Paul in their recent heavyweight bout at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. With Tyson’s unanimous decision loss, Drake missed out on a potential $1 million payout.

This isn’t the first time Drake’s bets have backfired. His betting history includes several notable losses:

2022 FIFA World Cup Final: Drake bet $1 million on Argentina to win in regulation time against France. Although Argentina clinched the title, the match extended beyond regular time, resulting in a loss for Drake.

UFC 305: In August 2024, Drake placed a $450,000 bet on Israel Adesanya to win against Dricus du Plessis. Adesanya’s defeat led to another substantial loss for the rapper.

Stanley Cup and NBA Finals: Drake bet $500,000 each on the Edmonton Oilers to win the Stanley Cup and the Dallas Mavericks to secure the NBA Finals. Both teams fell short, resulting in a combined loss of $1 million.

These repeated setbacks have fueled discussions about the so-called “Drake Curse,” where teams or athletes he supports often experience unexpected defeats.

Despite these losses, Drake continues to engage in high-profile betting, maintaining his presence in the sports betting world.
