Drake drowns with Ngannou after £478,000 bet goes south

There was only one way Anthony Joshua’s fight with Francis Ngannou could go, but for Rap sensational, Drake, it only had to go 478,000 ways for him to lose out on a wager.

Drake faced another substantial loss in his betting ventures as he reportedly lost £478,000 on a wager placed on Francis Ngannou prevailing over Anthony Joshua in a heavyweight boxing showdown.

Drake, known for his high-stakes bets, stood to win over £1 million had Ngannou emerged victorious. However, Joshua swiftly put an end to such hopes by dispatching Ngannou in just two rounds with a devastating knockout blow.

The bout saw Joshua deliver a punishing blow that sent Ngannou crashing to the canvas, requiring medical attention before managing to rise to his feet.

This latest setback extends Drake’s streak of losses in combat sports betting. In January, the 37-year-old incurred a loss of over half-a-million pounds when he backed Sean Strickland to defend his UFC middleweight championship against Dricus Du Plessis.

Prior to that, Drake lost £430,000 when Israel Adesanya suffered an unexpected defeat against Strickland in the octagon. Notably, he had previously wagered £700,000 on Logan Paul to triumph over Dillon Danis in a boxing match.
