Burna Boy – Ye [Audio+Video+Lyrics]

Published

on

When it comes to Burna Boy’s music, there are layers that are almost not unravelled at first listen, and Ye provides that mystic feel of drawing you into a corner at Fela’s Shrine on a Friday night.

Months after its release, the song was given life yet again on the music charts following the release of Kanye West’s album with the same title.

”Ye”, which borrows heavily from the late Abami Eda, Fela Anikulapo Kuti’s, ‘Sorrow, Tears and Blood’, is the everyday Nigerian anthem.

”Ye” is that rich kid and his friends heading out and asking themselves, ”My Nigga, what it gon’ be, G-Wagon or de Bentley”.

Ye is delivered so lazily, yet breeds the right amount of energy, Ye is playful, yet touches on serious matters, Ye is brilliant music and one that is addictive.

The gyaldem riding with me

My nigga what’s it gon’ be?
G-Wagon or de Bentley?
The gyaldem riding with me
I no fit
Die for nothing
Make you know say
Anything wey you do
Dem must commentate (I can’t come and kill myself)
So anything wey I dey do
I dey try to dey do am my way (I can’t come and kill myself)
Plenty plenty plenty suffer wey we face
Just to make sure money dey
But my people dem go say
I no want kpai
I no want die
I no want kpeme

I want chop life
I want buy motor
I want build house
I still want turn up
My nigga what’s it gon’ be?
G-Wagon or de Bentley?
The gyaldem riding with me
I no fit
Die for nothing
My nigga what’s it gon’ be
G-Wagon or de Bentley
The gyaldem riding with me
I no fit
Die for nothing
Different things dem happening
Schemes and packaging
In er one night 4 shows I’m juggling
Flow like the ocean
My boat I’m paddling
Shout out Shina Peller
That’s my bro; my family
Frozen chains
When it comes to money
I dey concentrate
Make I tell you straight
You are not my mate
If you be commissioner
I be Head of state
But my people dem go say
I no want kpai
I no want die
I no want kpeme
I want enjoy
I want chop life
I want buy motor
I want build house
I still want turn up
My nigga what’s it gon’ be?
G-Wagon or de Bentley?
The gyaldem riding with me
I no fit
Die for nothing
My nigga what’s it gon’ be?
G-Wagon or de Bentley?
The gyaldem riding with me
I no fit
Die for nothing
Oluwaburna o
