"Don't sign Benzema" -- Former Manchester United player warns

Former Manchester United player now turned pundit, Paul Parker has warned his former club against repeating same mistake it made with the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo to Old Trafford by bringing in former Real Madrid striker, Karim Benzema into Erik ten Hag’s side.

The former Real Madrid star and Al-Ittihad player has seen himself get a repeated mention in discussions related to a Manchester United move, which Paul Parker considers nothing more than a ‘PR signing’.

According to the pundit, bringing in Benzema will be a similar move in the vein of former United player, Cristiano Ronaldo whose return to Old Trafford ultimately ended on a sour note for the club and the manager.

Karim Benzema who faces uncertain future in the Saudi Pro League, has been linked with a return to Europe, with premier league sides being mentioned in conversations involving the deadly striker.

Speaking on SpilXperten, Paul Parker said;

“Karim Benzema would be yet another step backward. He would just be another PR signing, and Manchester United definitely doesn’t need that.

“It would just be making the same mistake as before when they brought in Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Edinson Cavani, and Cristiano Ronaldo. It would be yet another step backwards.”
