Domino effect of Harry Kane leaving Tottenham Hotspur

Harry Kane leaving Tottenham Hotspur has been a much talked about topic since before history began that the world might wonder if it will eventually happen or perhaps may force the end of history as we know it, should it happen.

With the Tottenham Hotspur striker, Harry Kane moving to Manchester United has been a news in the transfer market for long that currently it should be a historical subject studied in Museums or schools.

With Manchester United rumored to be keen on bringing the England international to Old Trafford this summer, we look at the domino effect it might create in football.

Kane, who is Spurs’ all-time leading Premier League goalscorer, has spent his entire professional career with the North London club but expressed his desire to leave in 2021. Although the striker eventually signed a new contract, it is set to expire in 14 months’ time, meaning Tottenham could lose him on a free transfer if he does not agree to fresh terms.

If Kane moves to Manchester United, it could have a significant impact on both clubs, their existing players, and the Premier League as a whole. Firstly, it is expected that Kane would break Alan Shearer’s all-time Premier League goal-scoring record if he moves to Old Trafford. The 28-year-old is currently 52 goals behind Shearer’s record of 260 goals, but he could reach that landmark quicker at United. As a player who does not rely on pace or agility to succeed, Kane has at least four or five years left at the top level to achieve this feat.

Kane’s departure could also provide an opportunity for Tottenham’s Richarlison, who joined Spurs from Everton for £60 million last summer, to become the club’s main striker. The Brazilian has not found his feet at Tottenham and is yet to score in the Premier League for the club. However, at 25 years old, Richarlison still has his prime years ahead of him, and a chance to lead Tottenham’s frontline could increase his confidence and spur him on to take that opportunity.

In addition, Kane’s move to United could provide a boost for Chelsea’s transfer plans. The Blues are also searching for a top-class striker, and they have been extensively linked with Napoli star Victor Osimhen, who has also attracted interest from United. However, if United signs Kane, it would increase Chelsea’s chances of signing Osimhen, provided they can convince the Serie A champions-elect to sell.

Finally, Kane’s signing could help United in their pursuit of the Premier League title. Although they are currently fighting to finish in the top four this season, United are looking to build a team that can challenge for the league title regularly.

United’s new manager Erik ten Hag, who has previously stated that “eras can come to an end,” will hope that Kane’s signing can signal the start of a new era for the club. However, Kane would need to be accompanied by other quality additions to make that aim a real possibility.
