Dino Melaye, Senator representing Kogi West in the National Assembly, who along with Saraki and other lawmakers, recently defected to PDP has reacted to call by the All Progressives Congress, APC, that the Senate President should resign.

Recall following Saraki’s defection, the National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole said Saraki can’t runaway with the party’s “crown.”

Reacting to Oshiomhole’s remark, Melaye said APC had no crown in the National Assembly.

Addressing journalists in Abuja, Melaye who is a frontline supporter of the Senate President, said “Whatever is illegal will continue and remain illegal.”

The Senator said the APC chairman forgot that crowns were worn in towns, villages, communities and kingdoms.

He said “nobody wears crown at the National Assembly because the seat of the Senate President is not hereditary.

“Nigerians should not also forget that Senate President, Abubakar Bukola Saraki, won the seat through democratic means.”
