Details of the President’s meeting with Aiyedatiwa emerges
The newly inaugurated Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, engaged in a late-night meeting with President Bola Tinubu in Lagos State, detailing discussions centered on governance and the state’s trajectory following his recent assumption of office.
Following the untimely passing of former Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, Aiyedatiwa took the oath of office, stepping into the gubernatorial role. In the aftermath of this transition, he sought counsel and encouragement from President Tinubu to effectively lead and rally the state towards continued progress.
Aiyedatiwa, reflecting on the meeting held behind closed doors, conveyed,
“I visited the President to further update him on recent events in our state, particularly the loss of our Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, and to inform him of my recent inauguration as the governor of Ondo State, considering the absence of a vacuum following my role as his former deputy.”
Expanding on the meeting’s essence, the governor expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his unwavering support during a tumultuous period in Ondo State.
“Ondo State has been in the spotlight over the past six months, but we’ve now moved past those challenges. President Tinubu has been a pillar of support, offering guidance and standing as a father figure during these times,” Aiyedatiwa affirmed.
He concluded by highlighting the collective aspirations for the state’s development in the foreseeable future, emphasizing the significance of unity and progressive initiatives in the days ahead.
