Despite the strain in my voice, I am still talented-Ayra Starr

Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, Nigerian fast rising artiste professionally known as Ayra Starr has replied people who have questioned her voice.

The Mavin act, countering claims that she cannot sing, took to Twitter on Tuesday to explain why her voice has been strained.

“My loves, I’ve been performing almost every day since October. Of course, my voice is strained,” she tweeted.

The Bloody Samaritan singer however maintained that despite the strain, she is still very much talented.

She continued, “I be human being , so please dead that ‘Ayra Starr cannot sing bs’, dead it fast fast. It’s all talent and grace here baby,”

Ayra caught the attention of the Nigerian audience with the release of her debut hit, Away, early this year.

In August, the 19-year-old star released her debut album, 19 and Dangerous, which earned her the number 2 spot on Billboard’s Next Big Sound chart in the same month.

The Celestial Being, as she likes to call herself, has since then become one of the most sought after upcoming artistes in Nigeria, and Africa at large.

Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe born 14 June 2002, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and model. Born in Cotonou, Ayra Starr began a fashion career at the age of 16 with Quove Model Management before deciding to pursue music.
