Delta lawmaker dies after being shot by herdsmen

A lawmaker in Ethiope-East Local Government Council of Delta State identified as Hon. Ochuko Jude Adjekpovu is dead.

The Councillor died a week after he was allegedly shot by gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen, along the Eku/Abraka road in Ethiope-East Local Government area while returning from a function.

It was gathered that the Councillor, Hon. Ochuko Jude Adjekpovu died in a hospital where was receiving medical attention in Warri.

The Council was thrown into a state of mourning when the news filtered into the area in the early hours of today.

Until his death, he was representing the people of Ward 17 Ovu-Inland.

Ethiope East LGA has three districts, namely, Abraka, Agbon and Isiokolo with 67 villages and a population of 200,792 according to the 2006 census.
