Dele Alli Hits Rock Bottom At Besiktas

Dele Alli’s career has hit rock bottom as the midfielder has reportedly been banished from the Besiktas squad for the remainder of the season. The former Tottenham Hotspur player was loaned to the Turkish Super Lig club from Everton last summer in a bid to revive his career after just one start for the Merseyside club.

Dele Alli had a promising start to his time at Besiktas, scoring in just his second appearance for the club. However, his form has since dropped, and he has not featured in the team since he was taken off at half-time in a rare start against Antalyaspor last month.

Turkish outlet Takvim has reported that manager Senol Gunes has completely banished the 26-year-old from the squad for the remainder of the season. Gunes had made his thoughts on the England international clear from the start, saying, “Let’s not discuss Dele Alli as a player, but he is below expectations in terms of efficiency.”

Alli has made 15 appearances for Besiktas this season but has not featured in recent fixtures against Ankaragucu and Istanbul Basaksehir. He was even booed by Besiktas supporters when substituted in the 28th minute of a cup game against third-tier Sanliurfaspor.

Alli’s loan deal at Besiktas includes an option for the Turkish club to purchase him permanently for £6.9 million. However, it is unlikely that the club will exercise that option, and Alli is expected to return to Everton, who signed him on a free transfer. The Toffees have the potential to pay £40 million for Alli’s services if performance-related bonuses were met.
