Deadline Day Drama awaits as Liverpool confirmed to sign Juventus Midfielder

Today is definitely deadline day for the transfer market to officially shut down, hence it’s a day clubs enter the official panic mode as regards signing.

This happens to be the case for the Reds of Merseyside, Liverpool as according to Sky Sports Italia, Liverpool are set to land Juventus midfielder, Arthur Melo, with medicals booked already.

This follows after last night fixture against Newcastle United at Anfield, where in Liverpool skipper, Jordan Henderson sustained a hamstring injury.

In the post-match interview, Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp did confirm moves being made though admitted the club was running out of time.

And now, it’s confirmed the Premier League side has now made a rapid progress to complete the deal for the Brazilian.

Arthur Melo will be put through his medical paces by Liverpool as they close in on adding him to Klopp’s squad.

The transfer is a season-long loan deal rather than a permanent move to Anfield but there are little to suggest the move will be made permanent.

There are no reports yet on the loan fee or if there will be an option or an obligation to make the move permanent.

The Brazilian will add to Klopp’s options in midfield and hand him a welcome reinforcement, if the club can get the deal done before the window shuts.

For what it’s worth, Henderson’s injury last night may have forced the Liverpool hierarchy to move into panic mode to get the deal done before deadline closes.
