There were reports on Monday about the apparent demise of one Mr. Wasiu whose dead body was found in the Berger area of Lagos State after an alleged fight.
Wasiu, who was identified as a bus driver of a motor park close to the Berger area, was said to have been dumped there at midnight, according to eyewitness account.
It was revealed that the late driver, whose dead body had winded up at the entrance of the park, frequented the Ishaga-Fagba route, and had gotten into a confrontation with a colleague from another park on Sunday.
A fight was said to have broke out between them, and according to statements, led to a bystander’s child getting injured in the resulting conflict.
It is said the deceased had gone to pick a bottle which he smashed to the ground but ended up injuring the child of an alcohol seller close by.
The claims that the injuring resulted in the child’s death drove its father, Ikman to confront Wasiu with his colleagues.
Ikman and his group were alleged to have attacked Wasiu till he fell unconscious.
According to accounts, Wasiu wouldn’t have died had Ikman not left him unconscious without any attempt to revive him.
The deceased’s corpse was restricted access to by the police division of the area as they took it away from the scene much to protest by the deceased’s relatives and friends who wanted to take it for burial.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, revealed he was not informed of the incident.
