Davido expresses amazement as ‘Timeless’ hits 12 million streams in 24 hours
Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has set a new record with the release of his latest album, Timeless.
The award-winning artist dropped the album on March 31st and within the first 24 hours, it garnered an impressive 12 million streams on the global streaming platform, Audiomack.
Davido’s Timeless album is the first to achieve such numbers within the first 24 hours of its release on the Audiomack platform.
The announcement of this new feat was made by Audiomack Africa on their official Twitter page. In response to the news, Davido expressed his amazement at the milestone he had achieved.
Audiomack wrote; “RECORD-BREAKING: @davido’s #Timeless had over 12 MILLION streams in its first 24 hours, more than any other album on Audiomack, ever! 🏆 🎉”

Blaqbonez, a Hip Hop star, expressed disappointment over the coincidence of him and Davido releasing their new albums on the same day.
Blaqbonez had earlier announced on March 16th that his next project would be dropping on March 31st, and he was excited about the date.
However, on March 21st, Davido took to Twitter to announce that his new album titled TIMELESS would be released on March 31st.
After losing his son in October 2022, Davido had gone offline but announced in December that he would be returning to online platforms in March.
He dropped a trailer for his forthcoming album on his social media pages, expressing gratitude to fans and supporters who stood strong for him and others who were with him through the grieving process.
Davido wrote; “There is a time for everything. A time to Grieve and a time to Heal. A time to Laugh and a time to Dance. A time to Speak & A time for Silence.
Thank you to everyone out there for your love and that has held me down. My next album TIMELESS is here, March 31st. Preorder in bio💚”
This came as a huge shocker and disappointing reality for Blaq because of the high probability of the album reception overshadowing his own song when they both drop.
Blaqbonez wrote; “Damn. can’t enjoy anything in this industry 😭”
