Davido emerges first Nigerian on Comedy Central Roast

Nigerian music superstar, David ‘Davido’ Adeleke will, on February 21, make history as the first Nigerian to feature on Comedy Central Roast.

The ‘Fall’ singer will be part of the panel roasting South African comedian ‘AKA’.

“I’m such a big fan of Comedy Central, this is going to be a hilarious night. I’m ready, Africa are you ready? This is a Roast so nothing is off limits!” he said in a statement released by organisers.

Other panellists to feature on the show alongside Davido are Pierre, Moshe, Francois Van Coke, Mark Fish, Nina Hastie, Moonchild Sanelly, Joey Rasdien, Papa Penny with Pearl Thusi acting as roast master.

Commenting on the show, Alex Okosi, executive vice president and managing director of Viacom International Media Networks Africa (VIMN Africa), said: “At VIMN Africa, we continuously evolve and innovate content to create unique and engaging experiences for our audiences that drive culture.

“In a continental first, this Comedy Central Roast now transcends boundaries by welcoming Africa’s international star, Davido, to the panel.”

The event, which is organised by Comedy Central and Showmax, is scheduled to hold at The Teatro at Montecasino, Johannesburg, South Africa
