Davido breaks silence following Grammy Awards loss

Davido Adeleke, a well-known Afrobeat performer, expressed disappointment after losing all three Grammy Awards nominations for the 2024 event.

Davido received three nominations for the 66th Grammy Awards, including ‘Timeless’ for Best Global Music Album, ‘Feel’ for Best Global Music Performance, and ‘Unavailable’ for Best African Music Performance.

Tyla from South Africa won Best African Music Performance, Shakti from India won Best Global Music Album, and Béla Fleck, Edgar Meyer & Zakir Hussain Featuring Rakesh Chaurasia won Best Global Music Performance.

In response to the defeat, Davido acknowledged African artist Tyla’s success on the X platform, seeing it as a communal victory for Africa.

In the post, he wrote, “Congratulations on your win @Tyllaaaaaaa! Big One for Africa! Keep soaring! 🔥⭐️.”

Davido shared a screenshot of the article on his Instagram story with over 20 million fans.

Fans and well-wishers have already flooded Davido’s page, comforting him for his loss, and many have promised him of their continued support regardless of the Grammy Awards.
