David Oyelowo to star in Disney musical written by ‘Moonlight’ playwright

British-Nigerian actor, David Oyelowo has been billed to star in a live-action musical written by Moonlight playwright Tarell Alvin McCraney for Disney.

The 41-year-old actor will lead the live-action musical titled Cyrano the Moor, which will be a combination of Shakespeare’s Othello and the French play Cyrano de Bergerac.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, he will be also be producing the film alongside his English actress wife, Jessica Oyelowo.

Oyelowo worked with the Disney on 2016’s chess drama Queen of Katwe, and will next be seen Doug Liman’s sci-fi thriller Chaos Walking and the Blumhouse production Only You.
