Manchester United in a horrible end to the season, lost their final game to Crystal Palace, only managing a 6th place finish as a result of Brighton doing the Old Trafford club a favor by beating West Ham United, who now finish 7th in the league.
On the bright side, Man United have secured Europa League football next season, ahead of the coming of New manager, Erik ten Hag, who was captured watching from the stand at Selhurst Park.
The Dutch man will be having a first time meeting with the squad next week as per the reports going around, before a new era begins at the Theatre of Dreams.
De Gea though, has been one of the outstanding players the Manchester club has had this season, making countless saves to keep the team in games they should have lost or lost by a considerable margin this season.
In his post match interview after the Palace game, the Spaniard advised players who feel they don’t want to be at the club to leave in the transfer window.
“[The] ones [Manchester stars] who want to stay, stay at the club. Ones that don’t want to stay go out. You don’t have to stay here. I want to forget this season and be 100% ready for the next season and be positive,” De Gea told Sky Sports without fear or favor, let alone mincing words.
