David Beckham shares true feelings about Manchester United

Once a red, always a red Manchester United fans would say, but is David Beckham still a ‘Red’?

The former English icon on Tuesday night sat as a guest with the CBS Sports crew for the UEFA Champions League games in which the Red Devils were missing out of due to their 8th place finish last season.

Opening up about the “painful” reality of seeing his old side miss out on the glory of the competition, Beckham shared with the likes of Thierry Henry and Jamie Carragher his mixed feelings as Europe’s elite returned to action.

While Beckham fondly recalled his own Champions League triumphs, the conversation took a nostalgic turn when presenter Kate Abdo asked if it hurt not seeing United in the tournament.

David Beckham candidly responded, “It’s a little bit painful… but we’re too big not to be back on this stage.”

As Manchester United were busy thrashing Barnsley 7-0 in the Carabao Cup on the same night, Beckham expressed optimism that the club’s European exile would be temporary, setting the stage for a powerful return.

Meanwhile, United’s manager Erik ten Hag praised his team’s ruthless display, signaling that, despite recent struggles, the club’s resurgence is in motion. Could Beckham’s prediction of a United comeback in Europe’s premier competition be closer than we think?
