Foluke Daramola-Salako, a popular Nollywood actress, has expressed her concern over the recent trend of Nigerian youths insulting their elders on social media.

In a video shared on her Instagram page, Daramola-Salako wondered what had become of the value system in Nigeria, as Nigerians are generally known to be respectful.

According to the thespian, the unruly behavior of Nigerian youths on social media is a pandemic that people are not paying attention to, and it is worrisome.

She added that if this behavior is not curbed, youths may start beating up their parents in the future.

Speaking about the recently-concluded elections, Foluke noted that many youths took advantage of the opportunity to insult their elders because they were supporting the opposition party.

The 45-year-old actress revealed that she had wanted to confront a lady who disrespected her on social media but changed her mind after much pleading.

Foluke, however, emphasized that she is a disciplinarian and would not hesitate to make an example of any young person exhibiting such disrespectful behavior.

The actress’s statement has generated reactions from her fans and other Nigerians on social media, with many agreeing with her that the disrespectful behavior of some Nigerian youths on social media is a cause for concern.
