Dangote, Sam & Nike Adeyemi, 2baba, more offer one hour of their time to highest bidder

Aliko Dangote, billionaire businessman, Muhammad Sanusi, the emir of Kano, and star pastors Sam & Nike Adeyemi are offering one hour of their time to the highest bidder.

Sanusi, Dangote, Sam and Nike Adeyemi, 2baba, as well as sixteen notable Nigerians, will auction their time at the Enough Is Enough (EiE) fundraising dinner.

The event, themed ‘Light A Candle’, will highlight EiE’s work on citizen engagement and public accountability and its plan for the future, while raising money for its electoral programmes by auctioning items and time with some renowned Nigerians.

Other personalities who have put their time up for auction include Banky W, Oby Ezekwesili, The Ighodalos, Tunde Bakare, Lanre Olusola, Ibukun Awosika, Aisha Oyebode, Tonye Cole, Kelechi Amadi-Obi, Banke Meshida-Lawal, Omawumi, Jumoke Adenowo, Funke Bucknor-Obruthe, Mai Atafo, Leke Alder and Akin Oyebode.

Set to hold at Harbour Point, Victoria Island, Lagos, on Sunday, guests will be serenaded with performances by 2baba, Aramide and Timi Dakolo.

The theme, derived from WL Watkinson’s phrase: “Yet is it far better to light the candle than to curse the darkness”, was conceived to remind Nigerians to take action and complain less.

Yemi Adamolekun, executive director of EiE Nigeria said, “the phrase is at the heart of our work to educate citizens on their rights and responsibilities, so that we move from ranting to acting and occupy the Office of the Citizen the highest office in the land”.
