Dan Ashworth agrees move to Manchester United

The INEOS era kicks in for Manchester United as Newcastle’s sporting director, Dan Ashworth is ready to leave his role at the club for a move to Manchester.

In a social media post released by Sports journalist, Fabrizio Romano, Dan Ashworth is said to have accepted United’s proposal to leave Newcastle United after the end of the season.

Ashworth is reported to consider the move to Old Trafford as a big opportunity and project, the next step following his position as the Magpies Sporting Director.

According to Romano, the intention is to have Ashworth take over the role immediately than wait for the 2025 season.

He wrote via his X handle;

“Dan Ashworth has already said yes to Manchester United. He’s prepared to accept their proposal as it’s considered big opportunity & project.

“Understand Man United are intentioned to negotiate and pay compensation to Newcastle; they absolutely want Ashworth now, not in 2025.”
