Crystal Palace continue spirited form against West Ham

Crystal Palace secured a thrilling 4-3 victory over West Ham United in a Premier League match played at Selhurst Park on Saturday, reaching the 40-point mark target and leaving the Hammers in the relegation zone. The match was full of excitement, with seven goals scored, five of which came in the first half of the fixture.

Tomas Soucek opened the scoring for the Hammers in the ninth minute, but Jordan Ayew equalized for the Eagles just six minutes later. Wilfred Zaha, who returned from injury, put Palace ahead in the 20th minute, while Jeffrey Schlupp added a third goal for the home side in the 30th minute. Michail Antonio continued his impressive scoring form, pulling one back for West Ham.

In the second half, Eberechi Eze converted a penalty to restore Palace’s two-goal advantage, but Moroccan defender Nayef Aguerd scored a third for West Ham to make it 4-3.

With this victory, Crystal Palace have overtaken Chelsea in the 11th place, while West Ham remains in 15th position, four points above Leeds United.

Since Roy Hodgson’s return to Palace, they have won four times, drawn once and lost once, and the win against West Ham is the club’s first in six matches.

The Eagles’ manager, Roy Hodgson, expressed his satisfaction with the result, saying, “It was a fantastic game of football. It’s always great when your team comes out on top in games like this, and I’m delighted with the performance and the result. We played with great spirit and character, and the players showed that they are determined to finish the season on a high note.”
