Cristiano Ronaldo’s Last Worn United Shirt Sells At Auction

It began like a fairy tale but sadly Cristiano Ronaldo’s last dance with Manchester United in its colors ends like a tragic movie intended to sour the heart.

In his most recent game which from all reports could possibly have been his final for Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo’s last won shirt for the Old Trafford club went up for auction and was sold for a considerable thousands of pounds.

A mystery Chinese buyer paid more than £39,000 for the white away shirt that The Red Devils wore against Aston Villa earlier this month.

The Portuguese superstar may not wear the shirt again for the team.

The 37-year-relationship old’s with the Old Trafford hierarchy has suffered as a result of a contentious recent interview with Piers Morgan, for which United claimed they had “taken necessary recent steps” in reaction.

This might mean that, fewer than 18 months after his comeback, the forward’s stint at the club is coming to an end.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano earlier today tweeted, “It’s true that Manchester United are willing to tell Cristiano Ronaldo not to return to Carrington after World Cup.”

‘This is the plan as things stand. This is one of the first steps after the interview — more will follow in the next days.’

Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to United hasn’t gone as well as everyone had hoped.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has lost favor with new boss Erik Ten Hag despite scoring 18 goals last season.

This was best demonstrated during United’s recent triumph over Tottenham, when Ronaldo left the field before the contest was over.

“He wouldn’t have done this interview if he wanted a way back,’ Gary Neville told Sky Sports recently. ‘He knew it would bring the headlines it has and be the end of his Manchester United career.

“I’m wondering what Manchester United are doing because the reality of it is they know they have to terminate Cristiano’s contract or they basically open up a precedent so any player can criticise them in the future.

“But the reality is if you’re an employee within a business and say those things your employment has to terminate, and Manchester United have to do that in the next few days.”
