Cristiano Ronaldo set a new record for the most liked social media comment ever after he congratulated Kylian Mbappe on his move to Real Madrid. The French forward joined the Spanish giants on a free transfer, signing a five-year deal worth €15 million per year, a significant pay cut from the €25 million per year he earned at PSG.

Mbappe marked the occasion by sharing nostalgic photos of himself in Real Madrid gear, expressing his joy at joining his dream club. Among the pictures was a memorable shot of a young Mbappe posing with Ronaldo, who was a Real Madrid player at the time.

Ronaldo, who enjoyed a legendary tenure at Real Madrid, scoring 450 goals in 438 games and winning numerous trophies, including four Champions League titles, responded to Mbappe’s post with a heartfelt comment:

This comment has since surpassed 4.6 million likes, breaking the previous record held by a 13-year-old’s viral post in 2023.

The previous record comment was by Reed Harrington, who promised to fulfill the top comment’s challenge upon reaching 200,000 followers.

The challenge involved an elaborate journey to Thailand to train in Muay Thai and eventually join the UFC. Harrington’s response to this challenge captivated many, although he later admitted he couldn’t stay in Thailand for more than a week. Despite this, he continued to post training videos, maintaining the spirit of the challenge.
