Cow Causes Death Of Former Youth President In Bayelsa On Christmas Eve
Mr. Sobokime Igodo, a former youth president of Obogoro village in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, was killed by a cow on Christmas Eve.
According to reports, the deceased and a group of friends donated money to purchase the cow, slaughter it, and distribute it like they did every year.
According to sources, the two butchers hired to slaughter the cow at the deceased’s home, where the sharing was to take place, were unable to make the animal stand and continued to try to find a method to kill it.
Igodo had come out of the house but was distracted by a phone call and was not paying attention to the drama involving the two butchers and the cow.
The cow suddenly sprang up and came at the dead, kicking him so hard that he crashed on his back and fractured his spine.
He was brought to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Yenagoa before being transferred to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital in Rivers State, where he died.
According to a family member, his death has spoiled the festive atmosphere in the neighborhood.
