Court rules against La Liga in Mbappe Lawsuit

The Administrative Court of Paris has ruled against a suit La Liga filed to have PSG player, Kylian Mbappe’s contract terminated.

Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid was a widely talked about topic heading into the summer transfer window and the back end of last season as all who heard the reports knew Mbappe was already a Madrid player by default.

Of course, there were the shenanigan talks of Liverpool being in the mix and all, along with the reports that Paris Saint Germain weren’t ready to give up hopes of retaining the Frenchman’s services, but the general consensus by the media was that Mbappe was sure heading to Real Madrid.

Then from out of the wind, news came up that the former Monaco star had extended his stay at Paris Saint Germain, taking the football world by the storm. He rejected Madrid? Came the question afterwards considering very few people turned down such opportunities when given the chance.

So much so that La Liga itself, the Spanish league body had to question the motives behind PSG being able to get a player as exciting as Kylian Mbappe to turn down whatever Real Madrid was offering.

La Liga knowing the financial strength of the PSG owners, quickly called on the Financial Fair Play regulations of the UEFA and sued the Ligue 1 club in question of the contract proposal offered the Frenchman.

The Spanish football body sought for the termination of the contract owing to the Fair Play regulations act.

But now reports from France confirm that the court has refused to grant whatever contract termination La Liga are requesting for on the grounds that there were no evidence of any rule breaking before it was agreed upon.

La Liga’s argument is that balance sheets were falsified alleging that PSG had lied about their finances in order to make the signing of a contract extension by Mbappe possible.
