Coup plot allegation: Presidency is chasing shadow, says PANDEF

President Buhari swears in five new Permanent Secretaries

The Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) has criticised the Presidency over a claim that some leaders were conspiring to overthrow President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Presidency previously on Tuesday alleged it had evidence to show that some elements were hiring ethnic groups and politicians with the intention of assembling meetings where a vote of no confidence would be passed in the President.

Responding, PANDEF declared that the Presidency was chasing shadows instead of searching for approaches to address the countless difficulties confronting the nation.

The National Publicity Secretary of PANDEF, Ken Robinson, who disclosed this, stated, “It is rather shocking that the Presidency would under the prevailing situation of disastrous insecurity tag religious leaders and past political leaders as ‘disgruntled.’ That is the least expected.

“PANDEF cautions that the Presidency should stop chasing shadows. Citizens are anxious and troubled; many are becoming hopeless, with even the security agencies seemingly helpless and vulnerable.”
