LOVERS of music were thrilled at the University of Lagos on Wednesday as Reekado Banks, Humblesmith, L.A.X. Mayorkun and Kenny Blaq entertained them in the grand finale of the Close Up Cool Breeze #CoolLikeThat campus party.

The organisers said the party, tagged, ‘The Gidi edition’, taking place simultaneously across major universities in the country, was a celebration of creativity and possibilities among the Nigerian youths.

According to the Category Manager, Oral Care, Unilever Nigeria Plc, Mr. Tolu Salu, Close Up Cool Breeze toothpaste believes in the possibilities of the Nigerian youths, hence the brand’s focus on helping to drive their personal expressions, including the confidence to act on their desires, break barriers and be the next big music superstar.

Salu said that, in line with the intention to discover the next music stars from selected states such as Enugu and Benin, the organisation rewarded winners at the event with the new iPhone 7 smartphones, beats by Dr. Dre headphones and customised T-shirts.

He is quoted as saying in a statement, “We are also using these events to introduce the new Close Up Cool Breeze toothpaste, which has been specially formulated with antibacterial mouthwash formula, calcium fluoride and peppermint to address the top oral care issues in Nigeria – bad breath, tooth decay and weak tooth.

“With Close Up as a leading major brand in the entertainment industry, our mission for a sustainable living plan is to enhance the livelihood of millions of people by 2020, while also helping more than a billion people to take action to improve their health and well-being.”

The winner of the UNILAG challenge, Michael Jubril, walked away with an iPhone 7 smartphone while he joined winners from other centres such as Victor Iduseri (Benin City), Ezema Kelechi (Enugu) and Kerry Olali (Port Harcourt) in a performance.

Bank, Humblesmith and the other artistes gave a good account of themselves.
