Convocation: LAUTECH graduates 24,704 students

Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso has announced the imminent graduation of 24,704 students in 14th convocation ceremony.

 

The acting Vice Chancellor,, Prof. Mojeed Liasu, disclosed this to the press in Ogbomoso on Tuesday, April 19.

 

He said the ceremony slated for Friday, April 22, will see 753 graduate with First Class, 8,096 with Second Class Honours Upper Division, 12,023 with Second Class Lower, 3221 with Third Class and 299 in Pass category.

 

He stated that the graduation will comprise of six sets, 2015/2016, 2016/2017, 2017/2018, 2018/2019, 2019/2020 and 2020/2021.

 

Liasu added that former Military Governor of Oyo State, and former Pro-Chancellor, Gen. Oladayo Popoola (retd.), the Chairman, Governing Council of LAUTECH, Chief Mobolaji Ayorinde (SAN), the Vice Chairman and Executive Officer of BOVAS Group, Dr Victoria Samson, Pastor Williams Olugbemi and Ambassador Ibironke Adefope will also be awarded honorary degrees of the university.

 

According the acting VC, “News filtering in from Weboneteucs, world renowned ranking body, also named us as the Best State University and number 12 in the country. In the latest ranking, March 11, 2022, the body rates LAUTECH as the 9th best university in Nigeria in it’s “World Scientist and University Rankings 2022”.

 

He showered praises on Governor Seyi Makinde for clearing the 13 months salaries of workers salaries and promising to work on payment of outstanding allowances.

 

The VC mentioned that Makinde’s vision in tandem with his administration’s is to change LAUTECH’s technology nature by introducing new academic programmes like Law, Mass Communication, Education and others courses in due time.
