The police said the suspects – Jimoh Ganiyu (22) and Al-Amin Oyindamola (21) – were arrested on Thursday, January 25, 2018, following an intelligence report received by the Redemption Camp Police Division.

The report, according to the police, stated that a gang of robbers were hibernating at the Kara area along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and were planning an attack on the long bridge.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the police dispatched the Anti-Robbery team to the scene where the suspects were arrested.

He said investigation revealed that the two suspects, with other members of their gang, had earlier robbed residents of the Adesan area of Mowe.

He noted that they went to Kara to plan another robbery on the long bridge later in the night.

Oyeyemi said items recovered from them were one cut-to-size locally- made single-barrelled gun, three live cartridges, one Techno phone, three small bags and six new clothes.
