Comedian AY reacts to Peter Obi’s defeat
Comedian and actor Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, has taken to social media to express his admiration and support for Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate who lost in the just-concluded 2023 Nigerian presidential election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Tinubu, as the winner of the election, with 8,805,420 votes, beating Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Despite the defeat, AY expressed his pride in Peter Obi for his courage, ambition, and plans for a better Nigeria, urging him to continue with his genuine intentions for the country.
In his Instagram post, AY wrote, “From the very day you honoured my open invitation to speak with Nigerians concerning the 2023 elections, I became proud of you and what you represent. Till this very minute, you still make a lot of people feel so proud of your courage, handwork, ambition, and plans for a better Nigeria. Continue to be honest with your genuine intentions for our country, Nigeria. No matter what you do in your life. Just know that I will always be supporting you.”
