Ronaldo Has A Release Clause That Lets Him Return to England

Following Cristiano Ronaldo confirming his exit from Manchester United, the discussion switches to the Portugal international’s future post-the Old Trafford club, and now it’s being stated that at least 2 clubs hold the potential of gaining the star’s signature in the January transfer window.

This follows the termination of the player’s contract with the 37-year-old speculated to be ‘torn between’ a move to Newcastle United and Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr.

Manchester United had on Tuesday announced that the 5 time golden ball winner would no longer be a part of the club’s project going forward following an explosive interview with Piers Morgan.

Thus this led to both parties mutually terminated the contract with just 7 months left on paper for Cristiano Ronaldo at the club.

According to reports from Marca, Ronaldo despite his exit from Old Trafford could still remain within the English top-flight, speculating that Newcastle is one serious contender for the 37-year-old with Al-Nassr the only other club the running at the moment.

Eddie Howe, current manager of Newcastle had initially distanced the club from the reports when it was speculated last summer, but it is unknown if the recently Saudi owned club will revisit the rumors in the winter transfer.

The former Real Madrid star has already revealed he was offered a tempting €350million by an unnamed Saudi side during the summer, which he rejected.

At the moment, there stands a Todd Boehly Chelsea side that was speculated to be going after the forward during the summer transfer before the deal was rejected by former boss, Thomas Tuchel.

According to fresh report from the UK Mirror, Todd Boehly still maintains such interests in bringing Ronaldo to Stamford Bridge.
