Clients who paid me to book Shallipopi for event are threatening – Show Promoter cries out over Shallipopi’s arrest
A show promoter has made a distressing claim that he had booked the services of Crown Uzama, popularly known as Shallipopi, for a show in Ghana, only to find out that the rising singer had been arrested prior to the event.
The news comes in the wake of the recent arrest of Shallipopi and his manager, Ajayi Hafeez, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC on charges of alleged internet fraud.
According to CorrectNG, the EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, disclosed that the artiste and his manager were apprehended along with 29 other suspects, including four females.
The arrest has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, leaving the show promoter in a precarious situation.
In a circulating video shared online, the distraught show promoter expressed his dismay at being threatened by the individuals who had hired him to invite Shallipopi for the show.
He revealed that his clients were demanding a refund of the money paid to him and had even resorted to threatening his life if he failed to comply.
Desperate for a solution, the show promoter reached out to celebrities, urging them to use their connections and influence to secure Shallipopi’s release.
He emphasized the importance of Shallipopi’s presence at the show, as it was scheduled to run for several more days.
The promoter’s plea for assistance stems from his fear of potential harm due to the unforeseen circumstances surrounding the artist’s arrest.
In his words;
“Please Nigerians come to my aid, I borrowed money and paid Shallipopi to come and perform at my show in Ghana, now he has been arrested in Kaduna my show is ruined and the people that gave me the money have been on my neck to pay back their money please help,” he said.
