Ckay Expresses Disappointment as BNXN Backs Out of Collaboration
Renowned Nigerian singer Chukwuka Ekweani, popularly known as Ckay, recently revealed that fellow Afrobeats sensation BNXN withdrew from collaborating on his latest song, “Hallelujah.”
Ckay disclosed that he had initially planned for multiple versions of the single, featuring BNXN, Seyi Vibez, and Blaqbonez. However, due to personal reasons, both BNXN and Seyi Vibez were unable to participate in the project.
Taking to his verified Twitter account on Thursday, June 15, 2023, the “Love Nwantiti” crooner shared the disappointing news with his fans and followers.
“Hallelujah” was released a few weeks ago and currently features rapper Blaqbonez. Ckay explained that BNXN opted out of the collaboration after hearing Blaqbonez’s verse, while Seyi Vibez’s team failed to provide clear feedback regarding the song.
Despite the setbacks, Ckay emphasized that “Hallelujah” holds significant meaning for him, representing his personal journey from a humble upbringing to his current success in the music industry.

the bnxn version of HALLELUJAH may never come out. he asked to be ‘excused’ from the song when he heard blaqbonez’ verse and i simply granted his wish. seyi vibez version may also never come out because his team didn’t clear it. maybe the verse was too personal…maybe

it was too deep…i fully respect it.
but at the end of the day, HALLELUJAH represents my journey from the trenches to where i am today. blaqbonez is my bro for real and we share a lot more than a lot of you might think, but that’s a story for another day…— 𝙗𝙛 💋 (@ckay_yo) June 15, 2023
