Christian Pulisic Told To Leave Chelsea

America winger and Captain, Christian Pulisic has been asked to quit the Chelsea team after Tuesday’s 2-1 Champions League victory against Salzburg by Chelsea.

Former Liverpool star, Jamie Carragher, thinks the time has reached for the American to exit the Blues and emulate Timo Werner, who left Stamford Bridge in the summer  to RB Leipzig.

Since returning to RB, the German has found his form, and Carragher thinks Pulisic should do the same for his career.

Leipzig defeated Real Madrid 3-2 on Tuesday night in the Champions League thanks to a strike from Werner, who now has five goals for the year, a contrast to his time at Chelsea.

Pulisic played as a right wingback in Chelsea’s 2-1 triumph over RB Salzburg earlier in the early evening fixture.

After three years at Stamford Bridge, Christian Pulisic has struggled to establish himself in his ideal position.

“One hundred per cent,” Carragher told CBS Sports when asked if Pulisic should see Werner as an example to leave Stamford Bridge.

“And I just think Pulisic is sort of at that stage now where there’s been a few managerial changes,” he added.

Carragher thinks that even though Potter has given the American greater playing time this year, it would be challenging for him to break into the Blues’ established starting 11.

“But he’s been there a few years now, it hasn’t quite happened for him for whatever reason. But eventually you have to make that decision. I don’t think you can continue to be in that position that he’s been in for the last two or three years,” he added.

Christian Pulisic by his own standards and due to performances under former manager, Thomas Tuchel has had quite a troubled time in a Chelsea shirt which has relegated him to something a squad player in recent times.
