“Choose one Job or step Down!” — SiaSia to Eguavoen
Nigerian football legend Samson Siasia has stirred the pot with a fiery critique of Augustine Eguavoen’s dual roles as the interim head coach of the Super Eagles and Technical Director of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
In an interview with Vanguard, Siasia didn’t mince words, urging Eguavoen to pick one role and step down from the other, emphasizing that holding two critical positions could hinder the progress of the three-time African champions.

“Libya over-respected Super Eagles” — Eguavoen
“Eguavoen already has a job as the Technical Director. He should resign as Super Eagles manager and focus on that role. It’s impossible to effectively hold both positions,” Siasia stated firmly.
Siasia also reignited the debate over hiring foreign coaches, categorically opposing the idea:
“We don’t need foreign coaches—they bring nothing new. We have enough talent at home to take our football to the next level,” he added.
While acknowledging the youthfulness of the current Super Eagles squad, Siasia called for patience to allow the team to find its rhythm. However, his pointed remarks leave a big question hanging over the NFF’s decision-making: Can one man juggle two of Nigerian football’s most demanding roles?
