Chelsea won’t make top 4 next season — Paul Merson promises

Taking the Arsenal – Chelsea rivalry very seriously, Paul Merson doesn’t consider the Blue side of London having a success story next season.
The Arsenal legend has given his prediction for the upcoming premier league season and judging from his narrative, there is nothing good coming for Mauricio Pochettino’s side in the 2023/24 season.
In his prediction, Paul Merson also predicted the team that would win the Premier League title next season.
According to Merson, Manchester City still stand a chance to be Premier League champions next season, while Chelsea will not finish in the top four just as they failed in the concluded season.
Manchester City won the Premier League title last season while Chelsea finished in the second half of the Premier League table, specifically in 12th place.
“I can’t look past Manchester City for the Premier League title. With Gundogan gone and Kyle Walker on his way out, it might be difficult for them this season,” Merson said, as quoted by Sportskeeda.
“Arsenal could give them a run for their money, but [Manchester] City’s bench is very strong.
“Declan Rice will need to get used to Arsenal’s way. They move the ball around a lot faster than he is used to at West Ham and England.
“A lot depends on whether Manchester United can get Harry Kane. If they do, they’re massive challengers for the Premier League title. If they don’t, they will still be fighting for a place in the top four.
“I don’t think Chelsea will get into the top four – there is too much work to be done at the moment. Their squad is very unbalanced.
“At the moment, the only thing that could deny Manchester City the Premier League title is their own complacency. They’ve got the best squad and should be able to defend their crown.”
