A big game awaits the premier league this evening as Chelsea takes on Premier League champions Manchester City at Stamford Bridge. 

It is perhaps the biggest game since the opening weekend, one that based on the names of the teams, should offer some spectacle once the cameras begin rolling for kickoff. However, we know what to expect, particularly from Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side as they face Chelsea again.

Though the Spaniard has vehemently denied going into the game looking to challenge for the 5th-consecutive premier league title win starting with this game, we know that doesn’t mean his side going easy on their West London hosts.

For the Blues, they have contrasting ideas heading into this tie, and that is improving from where they were last season, and possibly doing one better than they did against City in last campaign. Chelsea under the floodlights of the 2023/24 season, gave fans some impressive play in this fixture, both home and away, forcing Manchester City to back to back draws on this ground and at the Etihad. But that was under the former manager, Mauricio Pochettino.

It is still left up to imagination as to what Enzo Maresca is capable of with this Chelsea side if Manchester City comes knocking, but we know it would depend on the team the Italian puts out.
