Chelsea threatened by Crystal Palace into abandoning Olise move

A London derby that Chelsea couldn’t win…

The summer transfer is a gift that keeps on giving for the media, and for Chelsea and Michael Olise, it is a move that has end up feeling like a sting for the Blues.

They may have won the chase against Liverpool for the deals for Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo, but Crystal Palace finally gets one over the Chelsea as they are able to keep their star player, Michael Olise.

It was no secret that the West-London side had intentions of signing the Crystal Palace midfielder, but all those negotiations fell flat when Palace informed its lawyers of the intention to consider going to a tribunal over Chelsea’s approach for Olise.

This development reportedly forced the Blues to move their interest off the player to place Michael Olise in a position to accept a new contract offer from Crystal Palace.

The Crystal Palace star has now signed a new 4-year deal at Palace in the aftermath of the Chelsea deal collapsing.

According to Crystal Palace manager, Roy Hodgson, this feels lik “The best news possible”, after the statement of a contract extension was released.

Michael Olise becomes another transfer negotiation after Tyler Adams that has collapsed, with the Blues perhaps set to move on to other targets before the summer transfer window comes to a close.
