Chelsea set to unveil Romeo Lavia after completing medical

The transfer saga between Chelsea and Liverpool has officially seen its end, hopefully for the good of Liverpool as the Blues are set to confirm the signing of former Southampton midfielder, Romeo Lavia into its ranks.

Prior to the clash last Sunday, Liverpool and Chelsea were at odds over key transfer targets in Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, who both were ideally Liverpool’s targets for the team’s Defensive midfield positions.

However, following the conclusion of the premier league tie, Moises Caicedo stood to his grounds about a move to West London, forcing his club, Brighton at the time to renegotiate a deal with Chelsea.

In the aftermath of the deal’s completion, Romeo Lavia changed his mind over a move to Liverpool, and despite the Reds upping the fee to sign the Belgian midfielder, Lavia chose the route of Moises Caicedo and took to signing for the Blues.

According to transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, Romeo Lavia has completed his medical tests and signed his contract to become a new Chelsea player.

The Blues will be paying a £53m sum and £5m on add-ons to Southampton for a long term deal that sees the 2004 born midfielder move to the Stamford Bridge.
Up next for Chelsea is completing the deal for Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise to Stamford Bridge, beating Manchester City to the midfielder’s signature.
