Chelsea scouts Osimhen but a twist rumored

Chelsea Football Club had scouts present at the Stadio Brianteo on Sunday to closely observe Nigerian international Victor Osimhen during Napoli’s match against Monza, as reported by II Mattino.

Osimhen, who has been in impressive form, featured in the game as Napoli suffered a 2-0 defeat against their hosts. This loss marked the first for Luciano Spalletti’s team in eight matches across all competitions.

Representatives from Chelsea were in attendance to assess Osimhen firsthand. The West London club has expressed a keen interest in acquiring the talented forward during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Despite Chelsea’s pursuit, Napoli’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, has reiterated his desire to retain Osimhen’s services. However, a substantial offer from the Premier League giants could potentially sway the Italian club’s stance.

However, reports state the Chelsea scouts were not inspired by what they saw from Osimhen, alleging that it places Manchester United in good position to sign the Nigerian.

Osimhen has played a pivotal role in Napoli’s success this season, aiding the team in their quest to clinch the Serie A title. He has contributed an impressive tally of 23 goals and four assists, playing a crucial part in ending Napoli’s long wait to lift the prestigious Scudetto.

As the transfer window approaches, all eyes will be on the potential negotiations between Napoli and Chelsea regarding Osimhen’s future. Chelsea’s interest in the Nigerian striker demonstrates their ambition to strengthen their attacking options and add his skill set to their squad.
