Chelsea rumored to play a gamble for controversial EPL player

Chelsea as stated by Mauricio Pochettino in a recent press conference, are not done with bringing in players into the squad, and in this case, more attacking options despite additions of Nicolas Jackson and the likes this summer.

And now based on reports by Sports publication, The Independent, Nottingham Forest’s Brennan Johnson could jump ship to the Blues’ rank this summer ahead of the deadline day.

However, it is one specific report that seems to shake the landscope, as it is being rumored that Chelsea could be in line to tempt Brentford striker, Ivan Toney away from the Bees despite the betting ban placed on him by the premier league.

It is believed that the controversial premier league player fits the mould of attacking players that Mauricio Pochettino will be looking to bring to Stamford Bridge, and according to the report, there is an increasing feeling a deal could be struck ahead of the deadline window.

Premier League club, Brentford are said to holding out a £80 million price tag that would guarantee Ivan Toney’s exit from the club this summer.

Based on Toney’s recent interview on Dairy of A CEO podcast, the Englishman is open to leaving Brentford to clubs challenging for trophies should the opportunity come at him, claiming he would be ‘silly’ not to look into it.

“Whenever that time comes, so be it. My time at Brentford has been good; one of the best times of my career.” Ivan Toney was quoted as saying.

This is in rsponse to being quizzed about being open to a move to Liverpool who the player has previously declared a love for.

The 27-year-old currently stands suspended from all football-related activity for eight months , a ban that has been in effect since May for breaching The FA’s Betting Rules.
