Chelsea pursue Nottingham Forest defender Murillo in £50m Deal

Chelsea have set their sights on securing Nottingham Forest’s £50 million-rated defender, Murillo, as part of their ongoing efforts to bolster their defensive line under new manager Enzo Maresca.

The Premier League club from west London is actively seeking a new central defender following the departure of veteran Thiago Silva.

In addition to their interest in Boca Juniors’ promising defender Aaron Anselmino, the Blues are also keen on acquiring a defender who can make an immediate impact on the first team. Murillo, who impressed during his debut season at Nottingham Forest, fits this profile perfectly.

According to a report by Brazilian outlet UOL, Chelsea have initiated discussions with Nottingham Forest regarding a potential transfer for the 21-year-old centre-back. However, Forest have set a firm asking price of £50 million for the young Brazilian.

Chelsea, while highly interested in Murillo, have reportedly informed Forest that they are not willing to meet the £50 million valuation. Instead, the Blues are considering a proposal that includes offering two of their own players as part of the deal to offset the transfer fee.

The negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing, with Chelsea hopeful of reaching a compromise that would see Murillo don the blue jersey at Stamford Bridge for the upcoming season.
