Chelsea players coin 'annoying' nickname for Cole Palmer

Current Chelsea cannot be mentioned without Cole Palmer standing as its face. However, his teammates see a different face behind closed doors of the dressing room.

From his viral love for “Chippy chips” to playful jabs at his bean-filled diet, the 22-year-old has become a magnet for locker-room banter.

Teammate Noni Madueke recently spilled the beans—quite literally—on the quirky monikers making waves in the Chelsea dressing room.

Madueke, who dubbed Cole Palmer “Chippy Man” in honor of his now-iconic viral clip, revealed that the nickname has become a running joke that irks Palmer.

“He gets angry, but it’s calm,” Madueke told Amazon Prime Video’s Ben Foster. “Chippy chips, that’s him. He’s going to be fuming when he hears this!”

But the fun doesn’t stop there. Serbian goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic, nicknamed “Beetroot” for his dietary preferences, has added to the banter by christening Palmer “Beans” due to his love for the classic English staple.

Palmer’s response? More nicknames and plenty of laughs. Despite the lighthearted teasing, it’s clear the young star’s love for football and food alike keeps the camaraderie strong at Stamford Bridge.

With 11 goals and six assists this season, Cole Palmer continues to dazzle under Enzo Maresca. But whether he’s “Chippy Man,” “Cold Palmer,” or simply “Beans,” the Chelsea playmaker is proving to be just as entertaining off the field as he is on it.
