Chelsea Officially Unveils Pochettino as Manager

In a much-anticipated announcement, Chelsea Football Club has confirmed the appointment of Mauricio Pochettino as the head coach of the men’s team, starting from the 2023/24 season. The Argentine manager will assume his new role on July 1, 2023, signing a two-year contract with a club option for an additional year.

Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley, co-sporting directors of Chelsea, expressed their delight at Pochettino’s appointment, highlighting his experience, high standards, leadership qualities, and character.

Pochettino’s extensive managerial career, having worked at the highest levels in various leagues and languages, further solidified his selection.

The club’s owners, Todd Boehly, Behdad Eghbali, José E. Feliciano, Mark Walter, and Hansjörg Wyss, applauded the thorough and thoughtful process carried out by the sporting team in selecting Pochettino. They expressed their delight in having the world-class coach join Chelsea, emphasizing his outstanding track record and the anticipation surrounding his arrival.

Mauricio Pochettino, renowned for his teams’ high-energy and attractive playing style, has also gained recognition for nurturing young players and helping them realize their full potential within a strong squad ethos. With several seasons of Premier League experience, as well as coaching stints in Spain and France, the 51-year-old brings a wealth of expertise to the Blues. Most recently, he led Paris Saint-Germain, guiding the club to a Ligue 1 title and the Coupe de France.

Pochettino’s coaching staff at Chelsea will consist of Jesus Perez, Miguel d’Agostino, Toni Jimenez, and Sebastiano Pochettino, forming a well-rounded team to support the manager’s vision.
